Is This Seat Taken?
I received a key for this game from Wholesome Games and I finally had the chance to check it out this month! This is a really cute puzzle game where you try to make all the lil shapes happy based on their different needs. There's a good story about a shape who's trying to find her way in life and believe in the skills that she has (yes, I am ignoring how that relates to my current situation). We finished it over a couple of play sessions and I know a couple of folk have picked it up and played it since stream. You should definitely check it out and join me "we dislike Luca" club once you finish <3 .

Spilled!
Do you want to be a lil boat but not deal with the eldritch horrors that the fisherman faced in Dredge? Do you wanna save lil animals from water pollution? Then Spilled! is definitely for you. In this short game, you can upgrade your boat to help clean the waters in your area and make sure that animals can thrive. It was a ton of fun and the art was really cute, highly recommend.

Variety Days
This month we also had a couple of variety days! In these streams, we checked out Time Flies, Slay the Spire 2, and Lone Fungus: Melody of Spores. This was mostly by choice but also because we were having some tech issues during streams and had to swap up the games I was playing. I'll be returning to each of those games in the future! Just gotta figure out why my PC is so unhappy lately.
VODs are up on YouTube, link at the bottom of the newsletter if you want to check them out!
On My Own
Plucky Squire
I want to love this game. The art style, the music, and the general vibes are usually exactly what I'm looking for in a game. And, don't get me wrong, I'm glad that I played it. But Plucky Squire didn't really hit for me. I'll be coming out with a longer piece where I talk a lil more about my thoughts on the game, but the short of it is that I felt like I was never really trusted to play the game. There were a lot of times where right after I finished something, the characters stopped to talk about the thing that I just did. I think I wanted more of interacting with the storybook and a lil less hand holding. But again, I'll talk more about it in a longer piece soon!
I do think this would be a great game to play with younger gamers who are just getting into Zelda-like games!

Slay the Spire 2
Yall, this game is so fun lol. I will say that it doesn't feel too too much different from the first one, but the animations and new characters have been really good additions. My favorite character is still my homie the Silent, but Reagent has been fun to figure out. The game is definitely still in early access, but I'm excited to see how it continues to change and shift. I do have at least 1 win on each character, which feels really good!

Building Something New
So, some of yall know what I spend time taking pictures as a hobby. It's a way for me to be more intentional about being outside and appreciating the world around me. But, what I've found is that a lot of the pictures I take end up collecting digital dust on my hard drives and I'd like to try out an idea that I've been sitting on for a little bit. Huge thanks to my friends who let me talk through the idea with them, I really appreciate it.
As of this email, I have a monthly membership tier on Ko-Fi (for now, if they continue to be chill w/ GenAI, we might have to host this somewhere else). This tier is called Slice of Calm and it's going to be a monthly snail mail club where folk who sign up get a postcard (and maybe other small goodies) from me. The postcard will usually feature flowers or nature based pictures! If you want to see some of my pictures, you can see them as the thumbnails on the newsletters here: https://pizzayetimakes.kit.com/.
It's limited to 12 people for now so I can get a better idea of how much shipping and everything will cost, you can sign up here: https://ko-fi.com/pizza_yeti/tiers
